a gift for the hostess with the mostess

September 5, 2010

I  am attending a paella soiree for 70 this today at the home of  the hostess with the mostess and creator of the blog anatomy of a dinner party I wanted something personalized just for her and whole-heartedly believe each and every hostess deserves a well thought-out gift, wouldn’t you agree?   I hope she loves the beautiful fall-colored bouquets of vegetables, crispy french bread, basil and flowers fresh from the local farmers market.

The tomatoes, french baguette,  and the peppers will be wrapped separately in clear cellophane tied with raffia. And then all placed in a craft-colored gift bag with the flowers, basil and eggplant.

A raffia ribbon was hand-wrapped on each bouquet of basil and flowers. I was completely inspired, as usual, a the farmers market, and love the colors that came together for this hostess gift.  What do you think?

    My Darling,

You are the best of guests. I loved your thoughtful gift and even more so, the gift of spending the day with you and your charming husband!
